I have spent the vast majority of my career using database solutions to meet client needs. From starting at Acxiom, a large database management company in Little Rock, Arkansas, to overseeing database enhancements for Walt Disney Attractions in Orlando, Florida, to building a technology department from the ground up at archer>malmo, a large ad agency in Memphis, Tennessee, my experience is very broad and very deep.
I have been primarily focused on the direct mail industry through my career, but that experience goes well beyond getting mail in mailboxes. I learned early on that providing tools that allow people to interact with their data provides huge benefits. Without those tools in place, a database is simply a container of data. These tools allow people to interact with their data, learn more about their data, and make actionable decisions based on the data.
This principle doesn't just apply to the direct mail industry. It applies to every database there is. Integrating web applications and databases gives clients the ability to do practically anything they can dream up. Whether it's a web based application or a content rich website, the power lies in the database behind the visible front end and the ability to interact with that database. This power also typically directly impacts clients' bottom lines. Using these tools, manual, time intensive, paper intensive processes can be dramatically impacted saving time and resources, which results in saving money.
